According to estimates from the American Heart
Association, at least one-half million children in the US have some form of cardiac problem; 1 in
100, (excluding high blood pressure) and approximately 9,500 of those children (<18 years old) experience sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) each year in which only 5% survive.
It is our mission to provide families with peace of mind. We can provide potentially lifesaving testing to students between the ages of 10 and 18 by utilizing blood pressure monitoring, electrocardiogram (ECG), and an echocardiogram (heart ultrasound) to allow for the most accurate analysis of youth heart abnormalities.
These tests if done in a hospital or
doctor’s office would cost upward
of $1,500. We could bring this service to our students at a cost of $275 per student.
It is our goal for the burden of cost to be completely removed from the equation and to be able to provide this service free of charge to parents. Because a child’s health should not depend on a parent’s income.
